In 1937, the photographer Horst P. Horst had Elsa Schiaparelli pose in a baroque frame to create the illusion of a mirror.
In this photograph Elsa Schiaparelli is dressed in an ensemble from her Winter 1937-38 Haute Couture collection. It consists of a dress of copper-coloured crepe and a velvet jacket in a darker red, with patch pockets and Lesage copper yellow embroidery.
