The artist Léonor Fini, who designed the bottle of the fragrance Shocking by Schiaparelli, also illustrated several of the great designer's garments.
Both silhouettes presented here were from Summer 1940 Haute Couture collection. The first is a sheath dress in black silk crepe worn with a blue bolero embroidered with jet. The shape of the dress, called “mermaid”, was invented by Schiaparelli.
The second style is a long bicolour dress in aqua silk faille and ruby silk jersey.
